It was this past Sunday morning in California . Four bikers died in a brutal accident, five others are hospitalized. Those who lived have now lost their friends, and those who died left behind kids, brothers and sisters, parents and friends. They were members of the Saddle Tramps Motorcycle Club. It was the clubs 10th anniversary ride.

The club members were riding about 80 miles East of San Diego when a Gold Honda Accord came up from behind them and tried to pass them . Another car was in the oncoming lane, the driver tried to avoid the Honda by swerving off to his right, he lost control when overcorrecting when he hit the shoulder on his side of the road and crashed with the group of motorcycles. The driver of the Accord fled the scene.

Two memorial services are planned for this weekend, and several fundraising events are in the works to help the affected families, one is tomorrow (Saturday Nov 20th) at San Diego Harley, on the East side of freeway 163 between Clairemont and Balboa Avenue

Saturday: Blood drive in the name of the injured survivors, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., San Diego Harley-Davidson, 5600 Kearny Mesa Road.

Nov. 28: Pat & Oscar’s in Parkway Plaza, El Cajon, 2 to 9 p.m. Twenty percent of sales will be donated to a Heath family trust.

Herb's dad placed an order for this 2+2, optioning it with the solid-lifter 289 High Performance and the accompanying mandatory (at extra cost) four-speed manual gearbox. He finished off the drivetrain with a 3.50:1 ratio in the 9-inch axle that was exclusive to the Hi-Po.

Then he never titled it, only drove it 2,847 miles, then parked it...

Herb's dad Bob also did careful shopping in the dealer-option Cobra Kit catalog. In the looks department, Bob opted for the Cobra Engine Dress-Up Kit, comprising finned-aluminum valve covers, a chrome radiator cap, dipstick, master-cylinder cap, oil filler cap, and air-cleaner assembly.

But this shiny breather was soon rendered useless by Bob's second, and more important, addition: the Cobra II 4-V Induction Kit that provided a cast-aluminum intake manifold mounting a pair of 500-cfm carbs topped by individual chromed air cleaners. The $245 carb kit also included a pair of Cobra medallions (as found on the nose of Shelby's AC Cobras), which Bob soon mounted beneath the 289 Hi-Po badges on the front fenders.

Why it's more important to have a scattershield around the trans, and the engine in the back. Those flying parts are also rotating, at between 4 to 9 thousand rpm... notice the tires are still spun up... and those spinning discs will slice through any thing that gets in the way. Be careful out there, and have fun.

The driver lost control and smashed into the back of a big rig in North Long Beach. The car was going northbound on Paramount Blvd at a high rate of speed at the time of the accident. A car show trophy was seen on seen of the crash. Long Beach PD is investigating accident as a psssible DUI. The passenger had to be cut of the car. Both the passenger and the driver were transported to local hospitals. The classic car was a total loss.

If you are correct and he only customized his car for himself, he wouldn't care what anyone else said, but his feeling are hurt, ergo (that means therefore)... he customized his car to impress strangers.

Jerry... and all other Stangpede members... I didn't insult the anonymous car or its owner in the first post, I did once his feelings were hurt that I compared the design of the SN95 to that of the 1990's Tempos, Taurus, and T-birds. To get his feelings hurt by that, is to have lower than normal testosterone levels for a car guy. But he'll grow out of that when puberty arrives. Or when he wrenches on something oily, rusty, and needing repairs.

I pointedly gave my opinion that the SN95 design is a cookie cutter design, similar to the Taurus, Tempo, and Thunderbird.

Like I did to an anonymous person who may be ashamed of his car, since others find it cookie cutter.. and said "Mustangs sometimes compensate for low testosterone levels. I'm not saying you should be careful that your dress doesn't get caught in the door... but are high heels rough on Mustang carpet?"

But I haven't insulted the car. I have only given the production figures to demonstrate the vast number of identical Mustangs, and then pointed out how many Fords look so similar to non-Mustang owners, that Mustangs be mistaken for Tempos, t-birds, and Taurus.

I took these two shots to demonstrate the different look from the last design, to the new retro design. I like the bottom photos/ design far more. It gives a distinct look instead of the cookie cutter look applied to the Ford Tempo, Taurus, Thunderbird... etc etc

I compared the last design of the SN-95 Mustang to all the rest of Fords 1990's designs. They have common design traits that make the Tempo, the Mustang, the Thunderbird, and the Taurus all look similar. That has to be 4 models, and millions of cars... that are similar. Hence, the design is cookie cutter. Especially compared to the "retro" 2005-09 S197 model. Which has the looks I prefer, it's less jellybean, and isn't mistaken for the other Fords... ever. And that is why the SN-95 is a cookie cutter.

Amusing story I heard on KGB

A dad gives his daughter a full size Mercedes, about 6 years old.

She comes home from school the next day complaining that her new gift is too "stodgy", not as cool as the Porche's and BMW's her classmates and friends drive.
