Auction news on McQueen's Hudson, Dr. Carr's Bugatti

The Hudson Commodore sold for only 39,000. You've got to hold it in don't you, the WTF that wants to escape on hearing that it wasn't sold for over a 100 thou at least for a cool car that Steve McQueen owned, and drove. I think the car without the cool connection is worth about 20, but to have it come from the McQueen collection ought to have made it 6 digits I believe.

The one of 17 Type 57 Bugatti Atalante that has never been restored, reupholstered, repainted, wrecked, etc etc didn't meet the reserve. It must have been one high reserve, the last similar Bug went for 7.9 million. They can wait, that car is the last of it's kind, a barnfind 1937 Atalante isn't going to happen again. The Bugatti failed to meet its reserve with a high bid of $4.4 million. http://choosingscars.blogspot.com/2009/01/1-of-17-1937-bugatti-type-57s-atalante.html It may be going up for auction at Retromobile in February through Bonhams
